EAT WELL & EAT RIGHT - COOKING DEMOS & NUTRITION
Cooking Demos promote healthier eating options. Using a variety of items found at home, members learn to prepare a nutritious snack or a healthy meal for the entire family.
Healthier Choices for Healthier Youth
Volunteers help us to promote nutritious alternatives and healthy eating habits. Members learn how to plan and prepare quick and easy snacks and meals that they can then share with their families. It is a fun and creative way to promote the positives of eating healthy. They learn how healthier choices can give them the energy and brainpower they need to succeed.
Our Eat Well & Eat Right Program provides resources and information regarding how eating choices impact daily life. Members are encouraged to use more fruits and vegetables in combination with an active lifestyle. Cooking demos take place twice a month, ranging from homemade pizza and mozzarella sticks, to granola bars and making a cake in a mug using the microwave.
Healthy eating habits, appropriately-sized portions and kitchen safety demonstrations are included.
